School of Science and Engineering scholarships are awarded to students at all academic levels. As you progress as a student, several more scholarships may become available.

Apply for Scholarships

Apply for competitive scholarships through UMKC’s online application, open from October 1 to March 1. You must be admitted to UMKC in order to apply, and some competitive scholarships may have a different deadline or require an interview.

  • Scholarships are awarded annually
  • Half of the award is applied in the Fall, and the remainder is applied in Spring
  • Most scholarships do not apply to Summer enrollment

By completing the online competitive scholarship application, you will also be considered for university-wide automatic scholarships.

SSE Scholarships for First-Time Students

All information is subject to change as scholarship funds become available.

High School STEM Involvement Scholarship

These scholarships are available to all SSE students and are renewable for up to four years if students maintain a 3.0 UMKC GPA.

  • Apply by March 1 on the UMKC online application
  • Participated in Project Lead the Way, FIRST Robotics, Vex Robotics or other STEM activity during high school
