Some of our programs have individual admission requirements, so be sure to explore your area of study for more information.
Admission Requirements
Students who are interested in pursuing a major with us are encouraged to take a challenging college preparatory curriculum in high school, including taking as many math, science, engineering or computer science courses as possible.
For Biomedical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Information Technology and Mechanical Engineering majors
Automatic admission

- 3.0 high school Core GPA
Test-optional admission
We offer a test-optional admission option for incoming freshmen. Students who do not submit an ACT or SAT score (or whose scores do not meet automatic admission requirements) will have their application individually reviewed. We consider a combination of overall core GPA and grades in math, science, computer science and engineering courses in making the admission decision.
Pre-engineering admission
Students whose academic preparation is below the automatic admission requirements may be admitted to the Pre-Engineering designation along with their selected major. The Pre-Engineering program provides guided support, including frequent meetings with the academic advisor, participation in tutoring and Supplemental Instruction and guidance to lead to students to success.
Students who are not admitted to Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology programs but meet the general admission requirements may be admitted to University College. After completion of one to two successful semesters in University College, students may request to change their major into SSE. Students interested in this option should work with their University College advisor.
