Dr. Leila Borvayeh received B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in physics from Chamran University of Ahwaz, Ahwaz, Iran in 1999 and 2002 and a Ph.D. degree in physics from the University of Calgary, Calgary, Canada in 2009 followed by a one-year post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Miami, Miami, FL, USA. Currently, she is serving as an assistant teaching professor in the Physics program of the Division of Energy, Matter, and Systems (EMS) under the newly formed School of Science and Engineering (SSE) at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC). Dr. Borvayeh has a long experience and a deep interest in teaching, educational development, mentoring, and student management. For more than fifteen years, this interest has intensified through a variety of teaching and research jobs during her academic careers.
