About

Justin grew up in Tucson, Arizona where he also received a B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Arizona. He then attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he met his incredible spouse Allyssa and  earned his Ph.D. in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. He and Allyssa then moved to Austin, Texas where he did his postdoctoral fellowship in Dr. Bryan Davies lab at the University of Texas at Austin. Justin recently joined the UMKC Biology faculty as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2024. Outside of the lab Justin enjoys bowling, playing indoor soccer, home brewing, and taking his 14 year old dog Albert to Bar K.
