About

Throughout my scientific career, my interests have centered on (1) gaining a structural understanding of molecular recognition events and (2) explaining how these events underpin the development of metazoans. In particular, my laboratory investigates the cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions that guide the function of the nervous system. Technically, we approach these problems by working with purified components and investigating their interactions using biochemical and structural methods (X-ray crystallography).
