The University of Missouri–Kansas City's School of Science and Engineering exists to educate the next generation of scientists, engineers, innovators and problem solvers who will shape the future of our communities and our world.

Our vision is to become the nation's premier urban public School of Science and Engineering, recognized for expanding opportunity, advancing discovery and creating meaningful impact. We believe that scientific discovery and engineering innovation are inseparable. Science asks the fundamental questions. Engineering transforms those discoveries into solutions. Together, they drive economic growth, improve health, protect our environment, strengthen national security and create opportunities for generations to come.

As a unified School of Science and Engineering, we embrace the interdisciplinary nature of modern STEM. The challenges that define our century, such as artificial intelligence, sustainable energy, advanced materials, biotechnology, climate resilience, cybersecurity and personalized medicine, cannot be solved within disciplinary silos. They require scientists and engineers working together, learning together, and discovering together.
